As architect and author of numerous published books(Apress) and articles on AI, mobile, architecture, and his forthcoming book AI Transformation, he has contributed to advancing AI knowledge and application across sectors. Dan has also shared insights through articles for IBM Mobile Business Insights and Microsoft’s MSDN Magazine and delivered presentations at events like Microsoft Ignite, IBM Think, and Azure Day. He leads and architects projects at the forefront of GenAI, LLMs, and AI-driven applications, helping businesses across industries harness the transformative potential of AI.
Dan’s firm has advised on dozens of successful business apps in healthcare, retail, government, education, finance, transportation, biotech, and others. Projects include a cross-platform app for Thermo Fisher Scientific which won a W3, a Davey award, as well as a medical app used by over forty thousand surgeons.
He speaks at conferences, universities, and user groups. Dan developed Azure and Xamarin course curriculum for Microsoft and edX. Speaking engagements include IBM Think, Microsoft Azure Day, and Microsoft Ignite. He has written articles recently for IBM’s Mobile Business Insights and Microsoft’s MSDN Magazine

A contemporary Renaissance man, Mr. Hermes is also active in the arts. He is a recognized composer, his classical crossover music having aired on National Public Radio (NPR). He is also an active visual artist, exhibiting his work internationally, and a founding director of Art Technology New England (ATNE).
