Our Approach
Here are some specifics about how Lexicon System conducts a software development project, our approaches, our resources, our process, and our values. We typically kick off a project with a Discovery, to get to know you and the requirements of your project. Planning includes proper breakdown of app deliverables and effective phases of the product. Project planning includes estimates of work, built-in quality assurance (QA), as well as a schedule of deliverables. We use industry-standard tooling for deployment and testing of apps of a broad range of devices and operating systems as well as user testing devices. We provide support through the deployment of the apps and as agreed thereafter.
Discovery
Discovery involves an investigation of the requirements and specifications to ensure completeness. We will meet with your team as needed to discuss the existing app to understand the existing functionality, as well as directions and features that may be required in the foreseeable future. The Discovery phase will help determine how the work should be apportioned and scheduled and what should be in each deliverable.

Development
The development of the app will proceed through the committed deliverables, with feedback from you as the deliverables are made. We encourage the structuring of projects in an Agile manner, with frequent deliverables made so adjustments can be swift and accurate. Development includes unit testing, QA, and integration testing.
Deliverables
The app will be developed in a number of milestones, with deliverables made incrementally so we may receive feedback and guidance from you. Each deliverable will be first presented as a prototype for approval by the client, then completed and tested for release in the final proof of concept. Source code and executables can be provided for installation on client and customer iPhones and Androids. We use an agile approach, which encourages iterative feedback in the development process.
Risk Mitigation
We will conduct a Risk Analysis of the project and provide recommendations for the mitigation of risk. Review all steps of the project, from setup, design, development, testing, to deployment. Enumerate project risks in order of severity and offer solutions to circumvent or reduce them.
Platforms
Most of our projects are cross-platform for both iOS and Android, and some for Windows.
Deployment
The app will initially be deployed via a deployment tool such as Visual Studio App Center (VSAC) then through the app stores.
Support
Some built-in support is included in our services as the release candidate is brought to market. After the product is delivered, this phase of the contract ends and must be renewed, or a separate support contract drafted.
QA
Quality Assurance (QA) includes hands-on testing of requirements against the specification and additional tests as laid out in the test plan. Most of our projects are structured to contain QA.
That’s our approach for standard development. Sometimes a client needs a more focused approach to augment their existing development team.
